Val de San Amaro
Imos
froitos.
Vamos pues a
San Amaro
Valley
Let’s go
for a walk through our vineyards located at San Amaro valley to describe in a
graphic manner the state of the soil and also of the strains and its fruits.
Campo Redondo
“Campo
Redondo”
5 years old
new vineyard located at “Sendín” village, a hillside that looks to the South of
the valley. The orientation of the vineyard is also to the South, looking to
the meeting point of “Arnoia” and “Miño” rivers. This soils is really
interesting due to the big content of stone as “xistos”, quartz, slate, granite,
but is also a complicate soil for these young strains. Right now the vineyard
is already stressed, but anyway we have a big improvement compared with last
year. Red grape varieties like “TintaAmarela”, “Caiñoda Terra” and
“Carabuñeira” are the soul of this place.
Fexaco
Cepas
na súa maior parte vellas e moi vellas, situadas na ladeira orientada o Oeste
do Val.
No Fexaco levamos
xa tres anos reinxertando aqueles socalcos
“Fexaco”
Mostly old
and very old strains, located at the hillside oriented to the West of the
valley. Vineyards owned byMaria’s grandparents, my girlfriend and also part of
the project. Is a Granitic and clayey soil, with good water retention capacity.
At “Fexaco” we’ve been re-grafting for the last three years those terraces at
which the grape varieties produced were less interesting for us in order to
elaborate our wines.
“Lado”
terrace, really old vineyard, mostly over 70 years. This is its second year
after being re-grafted, and if everything goes right we’ll have a good harvest.
terrace, strains between 40 and 70 years old, is the first year after the
re-grafting, not all the strains have clusters, but overall I’m satisfied.
Socalco de Treixadura moitas cepas de maís de
80 anos, este ano esta magnifica.
“Treixadura”
terrace, a lot of strains older than 80 years, this year is superb.
equilibrada.Cepas entre 40 e 80 anos.
Red
varieties terrace. “Carabuñeira”, “Caiño Bravo” and “Ferrol”, this is the first
year after being re-grafted, but it seems to be the fourth or the fifth, as
they are spectacular, with a small harvest but really balanced. Strains between
40 and 80 years old.
O resto de socalcos de Treixadura mixturan
cepas de 13 anos e cepa vella de 40 – 60 anos .
The rest of
the terraces with “Treixadura” are a mixing between 13 years old young strains,
and 40-60 years old strains.
